Nestled high in the rocky mountains of British Columbia, this bowl is made from rail track once used to move precious metal from a small mine originally staked in the 1800s. Small carts were loaded up deep in the mine and pushed along these rail tracks to the surface for sorting. These light gauge tracks which once served a vital role have been left for decades on the side of the mountain to rust away and be forgotten.
Now beautifully re-made, this is one of the largest pieces I've made up to date. Subtle details allude to its old history, with a pleasant weight when held in your arms.
